Activism

Our family got together on a beautiful autumn morning to support the Juvenile Diabete Research Foundation by participating in a walk.  It was such an awesome experience to see our family come together and support our boy.  We are so thankful for the blessing of a supportive family.  I hope that Archer knows that he indeed has an army of support and love!

Midnight run

Archer and I hit the store at midnight for the new Harry Potter movie.  I am glad that we can do fun things like hangout at Walmart at midnight!

Fire station field trip take 2

Ridge had a field trip to a local firestation, the same station we went to last year.  This year was better.

He smiled.

He wouldn't get in the truck, even with Mom.
He kept a safe distance from the suited-up firefighter.
 He smiled again...kind  of.

After the fieldtrip, it was time to collect Archer and Emma and meet up for lunch and a movie with Grandma Toni, Uncle Jay, and Dad.

We had a great day!

Skating rink

My cousin celebrated her 10th birthday at Crystal Palace.  Skating parties are making a come-back, they were cool when I was little, just like bell bottoms!  I wish that I would have joined with my other family members and donned the sweat sweet skates and took a spin.

 Emma was willing.
Archer and Nathan did a little rail hugging.
See why I married him?  Who else skates in a suit?

Silver linings

Tuesday morning comes and we are ready to resume normal life, school, homework, horseback riding, dinner, and on and on...  I complete my morning drop-off and return home to freshen-up the living room for my Relief Society meeting but on the way into the house, I discover our water heater has given up and is letting lose in the garage.  I called my dad and he walked me through how to drain the heater.  Next I tackled my meeting and then began about the business of finding a water heater.  Here come the silver linings.  How lucky that this leak didn't start two days earlier when we were in California.  Our heater was still under warranty and only cost a trade-in fee which my uncle got us a deal on because he is connected.  I was able to get my dad together to load up the heater, turn it in, get a new heater, and help my dad install the new one.  AND we found out that we can park my dad's truck sideways in our garage!
